Welcome to the all new JKS Scotland website, a fantastic resource for all Karate-Ka serious about the art of traditional Shotokan Karate. We are an association passionate about the traditional martial art of Shotokan Karate and are determined to practice our art, and teach our learnings to our students in order to preserve the natural values of this world renowned style of Karate.
Today JKS Scotland is the largest and most successful traditional karate association in Scotland. We are members of the Scottish Karate Governing Body, the only recognised Governing Body for Karate in Scotland, and are also fully affiliated to JKS GB and Ireland. "MISSION STATEMENT" The aims and objectives of JKS Scotland are to foster, administer and advance the art of traditional Shotokan Karate. Our goal is to teach, motivate, educate and guide our students and instructors while promoting exemplary ethics in karate-do. We promise to do this through regular training of the highest order, course and grading events, special courses, and of course, competitions for both junior and senior alike.

JKS Scotland Gasshuku - 25/26th October 2008 JKS Scotland Gasshuku 2008 (127.39 kB)
JKS Scotland are proud to announce the forthcoming special Gasshuku course to be held on 25/26th October at Dalgety Bay Sports Centre with special guest instructors Makita Sensei and Langley Sensei. Makita Sensei is a 28 year old 4th Dan direct from JKS Honbu Dojo in Japan with an impressive career history for such a young exponent of the Karate world. In 2001, he was captain of Teikyo Karate Club and graduated from Teikyo in 2002 which is also the year he started the JKS Instructors Course. After graduating from this course in 2004, he became the 2006 All Japan Kumite and Kata Champion followed by various medal places at the 2007 JKS World Championships. He is currently a full time instructor at JKS Honbu Dojo. 
Langley Sensei was a regular competitor in major competitons winning, both in kata and kumite, the National Championships five times, European Championships three times, and the 1996 World Championships in Moscow. He is also one of a small handful of non-Japanese practitioners to graduate from the intensive JKA/JKS Instructors Program. Scott was determined to develop JKS Karate so he then moved to Ireland where he is now a full time instructor teaching throughout Ireland, UK and the rest of Europe. He is currently Technical Director of the JKS (GB & Ireland).
